Augusto Rodriguez
Partner - Head of Natural Capital, Toesca Asset Management

Mr. Rodríguez joined Toesca Asset Management in early 2017. He is currently responsible for the management of the firm's Farmland investment platform. His professional experience in the financial industry spans more than two decades, including over 18 years working with the current Toesca team.
Since 2021, Mr. Rodríguez has led Toesca's Farmland investment strategy. He oversees the capitalization and deployment of the firm's first agricultural investment vehicle, structured under a long-term lease model and backed by one of the largest Chilean life insurance companies. He led the negotiation of project-level financing with Scotiabank and later restructured the platform's first asset into a fully developed project through the acquisition of the operator's participation and a subsequent capital increase.
Previously, and since Toesca's foundation, Mr. Rodríguez led the firm's Real Estate investment strategy. In this role, he structured and managed multiple income-generating investment vehicles across commercial, industrial, senior housing and multifamily property strategies. These vehicles raised over US$300 million in capital from Chilean pension funds, life insurance companies, many of the country's most prominent family offices, and high-net-worth individuals. He was responsible for the origination, structuring, and execution of real estate transactions in Chile and abroad, representing more than US$700 million, including a joint venture with Avenida Realty to develop a net lease across Chile and the United States, supported by a US$75 million capital raise.
Prior to joining Toesca, Mr. Rodríguez served as Head of Real Estate at BTG Pactual Chile, where he developed and managed a publicly listed fund comprising a portfolio of income-generating properties exceeding US$1 billion, including more than 20 properties across Chile. Before that, he held senior positions at Celfin Capital (acquired by BTG Pactual in 2011), where he launched and managed regulated and private real estate funds. Across his time at BTG Pactual and Celfin Capital, Mr. Rodríguez acquired, managed and sold seven income-generating properties, achieving an average real IRR of 22%. At the time of his departure from BTG Pactual, the publicly listed fund was delivering a real IRR of 9.1%.
He began his professional career at ABN Amro Bank in 2003 as a credit and risk analyst.
Throughout his career, Mr. Rodríguez has structured and managed over 25 investment funds with total equity exceeding US$600 million, acquiring more than 50 properties and arranging over US$1.2 billion in associated debt. He has also negotiated and closed multiple financing operations in both public and private markets—including public bonds, syndicated loans, mortgages, and private debt—for an aggregate amount above US$1.8 billion. His experience includes the negotiation and administration of over 15 investment partnerships, representing more than 40 residential real estate projects in Chile and Peru.
Mr. Rodríguez holds a professional degree in Business Administration from Universidad de Los Andes in Santiago, Chile.
