Hans-Joachim Seyfarth is Head of Illiquid Assets Natural Capital at MEAG in Munich, the asset manager of Munich Re Group. He joined MEAG in 2006 and built up with his team since 2007 a global forestry and agriculture equity portfolio having invested across five continents and amounting today to about 4.0bn Euros.
Until 2018 he was in parallel responsible for Munich Re Group’s indirect real estate portfolio incl. office, retail, logistics, residential and health care. Prior to MEAG, Hans-Joachim worked for 10 years at then DaimlerChrysler Services in Stuttgart, Germany, initially structuring closed-end funds for retail clients investing into real estate, tram cars and aircrafts. Subsequently, he worked at DaimlerChrysler Services on a series of cross-border lease transactions involving US institutional investors and a variety of different public infrastructure assets in Germany.
His transaction structuring experience extends to the US, Australia, New Zealand and a variety of European jurisdictions. Hans-Joachim graduated in 1996 at the University of Hannover, Germany, with a diploma in mathmatics.
