Julie Koeninger
Julie leads institutional capital formation for farmland and agriculture-related investments. She brings an extensive track record leading natural resource investment strategies across farmland and timberland. Over her career, she has built and managed large-scale institutional portfolios, co-founded investment platforms, and helped shape the evolution of farmland as an institutional asset class. Her experience spans portfolio management, product development, and global capital formation, with deep relationships across pension funds, insurance companies, and other institutional investors.

Prior to joining US Agriculture, Julie served as managing director and senior portfolio manager for the Hancock Timberland and Farmland Fund at Manulife Investment Management Timberland and Agriculture where she also led business development for the firm’s global agriculture strategy. Prior to Manulife, Julie was director of agriculture at Conservation Resource Partners and, before that, was the product strategist for timber and agriculture at Grantham Mayo Van Otterloo & Co. LLC where she led the development of and fundraising for GMO Renewable Resources’ first agriculture fund.

Earlier in her career, Julie was instrumental in the development of the Hancock Agricultural Investment Group and served as portfolio manager for the agricultural platform for several years. At Hancock, she also led the first-ever securitization of U.S. agricultural mortgages through Farmer Mac.

She holds a B.A. from Dartmouth College and an M.B.A. from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. She is a CFA® charterholder and a member of the CFA Society Boston. Julie’s volunteer activities include Dartmouth alumni activities and serving as a member of her church’s finance committee.
