Regional Farm Tours Sponsored by ASR Dutch Farmland Fund (RSVP Required)
Monday, November 3, 2025 | 11:00 AM-5:00 PM
Curious about how the agricultural sector will look in the years to come? Join us on an inspiring field trip to two pioneering locations: Farm of the Future and ERF.
Together with your hosts, Dick van den Oever and Fadyan Pronk of the ASR Dutch Farmland Fund, you’ll explore agricultural farms where the best applications and techniques from agronomy, ecology and technology are brought together. A broad number of stakeholders are shaping tomorrow’s agriculture, just as the Dutch have been doing for centuries.
The Netherlands is globally recognized as a pioneer in agricultural innovation. Despite its small size, it is the second-largest exporter of agricultural products in the world. Dutch farmers, researchers, and entrepreneurs lead the way in sustainable practices and high-tech farming. This field trip offers a unique opportunity to witness how Dutch ingenuity is shaping the future of farming.
Farm of the Future: A living lab for circular agriculture
Farm of the Future is an innovative farm where technology, sustainability, and entrepreneurship converge. Farm of the Future develops and tests circular, profitable, and future-proof farming. Viable concepts will be further developed with the assistance of partners in the sector. Farm of the Future shows that farming can be not only sustainable, but also economically viable and socially engaged.
ERF: Large-scale organic arable farming
ERF (Exploitatie Reservegronden Flevoland) is the largest privately owned organic farming company in the Netherlands. This farm is 50 times bigger than the average farm in the Netherlands. ERF has been a frontrunner in biological agriculture for more than 25 years. With their advantage of having economies of scale, they are able to implement the principle of ecologies of scale. A visit to ERF offers a glimpse into how agriculture, nature, and urban planning can work hand in hand.
